Our Approach
Communities hold deep wisdom about the challenges they face, how those challenges connect to other social issues, and what individuals, resources, and institutions are available to bring about lasting change.
At Elevate, we believe local knowledge, skills, relationships, and resources create the foundation for sustainable and meaningful school improvement.
Through our community partnerships, we seek to center the knowledge and experiences of local school stakeholders, draw upon the power of existing community relationships, and provide opportunities for local institutions to get involved in improving the quality of education being delivered in rural Uganda.
Our role as an organization is simply to create enabling environments for communities to act on what they already know.
Elements of a Strong Enabling Environment for Community Engagement
We seek to create enabling environments for all school stakeholders – school leaders, parents, teachers, children, and other community members – to engage with one another to share ideas and innovate to improve the quality of education available in their communities.
