What Elevate Does

In close collaboration with government partners, Elevate designs, implements and evaluates innovative mechanisms to improve accountability, oversight and education system effectiveness in Uganda.

In a world of competing priorities and limited resources, our approach increases the efficiency of education service delivery and amplifies the impact of every dollar invested.

Why We Do It

Serving the world's second largest youth population, the Ugandan education system is under immense pressure. Though access to education has been massively expanded, the poor quality of education delivered in the classroom stops children from thriving and from reaching their true potential as they transition to adolescence and young adulthood.

Imagine you are in a classroom of 100 Ugandan 4th graders…

Our community engagement program reduces student dropout by 40%!

Elevate’s support in community engagement has been of a great value to our school. Many things have changed because of the Scorecard Committee. All the school indicators have improved from worse to good and even very good, such as absenteeism of pupils, `{`and`}` parent’s teacher relationship. This has enabled the scorecard committee to be trusted by the School Management Committee to perform their duties free and willingly to ensure pupils learning improves.

I have taken deliberate efforts to sample a few schools especially in Busaana CC, and I acknowledge that timetable observation has greatly improved. The Head Teachers note that CCTs ask for them whenever they visit, which has encouraged them to improve in this area. This implies that time children are taught has increased.
